Yes, brave, patriotic Americans... keep boycotting French wine and filling your SUVs with Iraqi and Saudi oil. That'll show Osama you mean business.

I think the problem with your comment is that unlike the UK, history shows that in general, (and I stress the in general part), that we Americans have left everyone else alone until provoked. I think if you check your history books, you will find that the UK has tried at some point to occupy pretty much every country on the planet.

We stayed out of Afghanistan until they attacked us. Yes, it wasn’t the locals, but the locals provided the headquarters for those responsible willing or unwilling.

It wasn’t until Japan bombed us that we got involved. As for France, well that is a bit idiotic. But it does seem that the only time France wants to go to war is when the Germans are sitting in a Paris café sipping tea.

So while I do not support this war in most cases, I think the general consensus is that had we been left alone, we would have continued to take day trips to France and drive our gas guzzling SUVs to all the places we could easily walk to in 5 minutes or less.

My personal opinion is that the USA, should pull every American soldier out of every country and leave the rest of the world to fend for itself, and stop calling us every time some dictatorial asshole starts killing and raping the population for shits and grins and then bitching about the fact that a few civilians get killed. And fuck BinLaden. That’s just another case of some rich kid who got pissed off because the silver spoon was shoved too far up his ass.

But that’s just my opinion.
